Stranded

" Come on guys! " Diamond called. She was a few yards ahead and bouncing with joy. Amethyst could barely catch up to her. Soon, once they got closer to the docks, Amethyst couldn't even see Diamond in the crowd.
"Diamond! Where are you?! Come here!" She called for her sister. In a few seconds Diamond came bursting out of the crowd and right into Amethyst.
"Please don't run off Diamond!" she scolded, " now come on, we go this way. " Amethyst held Diamond's hand and led her to the back of the crowd.
The boarding line for the S.S. Mango was very long. Seagulls swooped overhead and landed around the edges of the crowds. Then somebody would move and a patch would fly up. Amethyst kept a strong grip on Diamond's hand to keep her from chasing them.
Even while Diamond tugged and whined Amethyst couldn't not think of how much she loved her sister. Her soft blond hair and sparkling diamond blue eyes, her sky blue roller skirt and little marshmallow face. Amethyst would protect her with her life.
Now they were on the docks. Diamond hugged Amethyst's  leg now that they were on the wooden boards.I
The crowd became denser here and Amethyst breathed in a waft of sunscreen.
She pulled her backpack up and looked down at the Atlantic ocean gazing up. In it she saw herself reflected back, her frizzy black hair and purple eyes didn't really match her yellow sun dress. She pulled her sunglasses from her hair and put then on. Her parents had always said they had unique eyes. Amethyst didn't like them to be noticed though so she hid them.
Now they were to the front of line. Amethyst dug their two tickets out of her pocket and handed them to the cruise line worker. Next they went to security and were told where their family's room was.
"Let's go Die," Amethyst was finally able to say and they both ran up the gang plank and onto the cruise ship.
The first thing they saw was a pool the size of a football field. Around it were umbrellas, chairs, people, snack stations and an ice cream stand.
"Amethyst! Diamond!," someone called. Amethyst turned just in time to be rammed by a little girl older then Diamond .
The girl backed up and Amethyst saw that it was her sister, Emerald. Her forest green eyes sparkled so bright it was nearly always the first  thing she noticed about her. Today Emerald had her short, shiny black hair down and her perfectly smooth skin had been covered in sunscreen which was only half rubbed in. Her cutesy lime green shirt and play green shorts made her Dollar store neon green flip flops look good. Amethyst wasn't jealous of her little sisters great looks, but impressed that she was a seven year old prettier then a model.
Emerald led Amethyst and Diamond though the ship to their room. On their way the joined with their sister Sappire.
Sappy was two years younger then Amethyst, 13. Sappy had dyed her hair teal on her birthday so that it completely covered her natural red hair, and, of coarse, she had sparkling blue eyes deeper then the depths of the ocean. She wore a loose blue tie dyed shirt and blue shorts with her slightly heeled sandels.
Although Sapphire tended to look like a total teen, Amethyst knew her and that she never fit into the shoes she put on. One, she just had big feet, and second, she couldn't be angst. No matter how Sapphire tried she cared about how people felt. She was, well, Sappy.
They walked near the edge of the ship. Amethyst ran her hand over the railing and looked over the water and back to the land she'd been on.
"We're here!!" Emerald yelled and opened the door open with gusto. Inside there were two twin sized bunk beds. Both with three bunks. THAT was cool.  Diamond squealed and ran into the room, jumped on top and over one bed and onto the other. Then got off it and continued to run around the coffetable, then over it and into the next room.
The first room was a rectangle and had a tv inbetween the two bunk beds so that all six could see.
Amethyst's fifth sister say on top of the closest bunk bed. She was the most abnormal of all the sisters, but it only made Amethyst love and want to protect her more. Her hair had been white since she was born. It was flaxy and she never cut it. Today she wore it down and over her shoulders but some days she wore it in a loose braid or sloppy bun. Her eyes couldn't be described as one color, but as blue-purple-pink-teal-lavender-yellow. It was why they called her Opal. Today Opal wore a light pink tink top with a black jacket and purple shorts. She also had short sited prescription glasses. Amethyst saw her brown, short lace up boots by the door.
" Hey Amethyst, Mum and Da are in the other room, " Opal greeted.
" Hi Ope, " Amethyst replied. Opal smiled into her book. Amethyst read " Orgins, " on it, but Opals hand covered the series name.
Amethyst dropped off her backpack next to the bed and traveled to the other room. This one was a lot bigger and square. It was half a sun room and had two walls lined with windows. A king bed was on the third wall, next to an indent with a kitchen. On the counter was a tray of cookies which Diamond and Emerald obviously hadn't noticed yet. There was a tall table near the Windows with ten seats, that was enough. Diamond was running around still, and Emerald was jumping and the bed. Sapphire was in a fluffy , pillowy chair with her head phones, scrolling social media.
Dad put down the floaty he was inflating and scooped up the zooming Diamond. Diamond kicked her legs and giggles as she tried to get down. Dad called her silly girl and more little kid talk. Amethyst walked over to the bed where her Mom was unpacking and grabbed the pink lemonade, taking it to the fridge. Inside the fridge there was already some pop, Amethyst smiled when she saw that one of the three bottles was the family's favorite kind.
Now the last arrival entered the room. Amethyst's sixth sister, Garnet. Garnet's hair was blonde and appeared pink at the ends, especially in the sun. Her eyes were pink with red tints and the most matte of them all. Her complexion was light and she wore a pink shirt, folded jean shorts and a long, loose red cardigan. Her shoes were red leather sandals with a lot of straps. Not as many as Amethyst's though, which went all the way up to her knee. Garnet plopped her red backpack by the door and came all the way in, sitting in a chair next to Sappire.
Dad had put Diamond down by now and when Garnet arrived he announced," Good! We're all here! Mineral family meeting!!"
